22ND June St Mullins 12-5 WATERWAYS OPEN.
the Waterways Ireland Open was fished yesterday in St Mullins .the conditions were tough with bright sunshine and a downstream wind. The match itself was won by Bob Hulme from the Daingain (15 lb 4 oz) his catch contained roach and dace. The second angler was Bert Hunter W.A.D.C.A.C (14ib) his catch consisted o three bream and some sliver fish.In third place was Kevin Leahy Munster C.A.C (10lb 5 oz).the bream didn't show in their normal areas and not in the normal numbers of previous years.this made it a very even and fair match throughout.the Waterways Ireland trophy was presented to Bob by Jim Butler from Waterways Ireland.thank you all for attending
10TH August Inniscarra 12-5 Eight hardy souls took the journey too inniscarra or the third match of the master angler.W e were given permission to fish the world championship stretch .W e fished A section and the 5 hour match proved to be close match with only grams separating the top anglers three anglers. The weather was terrible due to the gale force wind which turn the lake into something that resembled a sea with 2 -4 foot waves that battered the anglers throughout the match, this put pay to any large bags of fish that would have been available if the whip or pole fishing was available.but everyone caught and enjoyed the day apart from the weather.thanks again to Tommy Lawton for his help on the day. see gallery for the pictures.
